Bird Kingdom

Bird Kingdom

An exciting adventure that is fun for all ages!

Welcome to Bird Kingdom, the open-air aviary located in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This spot is considered to be the largest free-flying indoor aviary in the world and was first opened here in 2003. This attraction provides immersive animal education and is open year-round.

At Bird Kingdom your group will be able to discover hundreds of tropical birds as you explore the pathways throughout the multi-level rainforest aviary. You will see parrots, lorikeets, owls, pheasants, quail, finches, doves, ibis and so much more within the aviary, and you will also be able to see resident reptiles such as tortoises, geckos, soft-shelled turtles, and snakes such as the Ball Python.

There are several different areas to visit and experiences to be had inside this attraction, including the Main Aviary, Small Aviary, Lorikeet Feeding, Night Jungle, Animal Encounter, and Old Museum. The Old Museum features artifacts this building used to hold when it was used as the Spirella Corset Factory and afterward the Niagara Falls Museum. You can also spend time at the rare Javanese House built in the 1800s, the only one of its kind in North America, incredibly built from solid teak with no nails.

Groups can participate in a guided tour experience or any educational programs they may choose during their visit, which include the Creature Feature option for K-3 and the Biodiversity option, which can be customized for grades 4-6, 7-8, and high school. There is a large space for groups to eat lunches they may have packed, or you can visit the onsite cafe that serves up kid-friendly choices such as pizza, hot dogs, nachos, and beverages.
