Bowman House Museum

You will feel like you have been transported to the past after your tour through the Museum and perhaps can even sense the presence of the woman who made this house their home for many years. - Dells Country Historical Society

Welcome to the Bowman House Museum, the historic home turned museum located in Bowman Park, Downtown Dells.

This museum was originally a Prairie School House built in 1904 for Abram and Alberta Bowman. The unique prairie style architecture is a must-see while in the dells, this local historic gem offering historic tours and regular viewings with the help of the resident Dells Country Historical Society.

Inside you will find hardwood floors, period furnishings, and various authentic memorabilia, the entire interior having a lived-in quality still. The home was used as a vacation home for working women from the late 1930s to mid-1970s, as you will learn all about during your tour. You will see various themed rooms dedicated to subjects such as Civil War hero General Joseph Bailey, Dells Delton, Native American History, a Blacksmith Shop, Ice Harvesting, H.H. Bennet, and much more.
