Cabot Cheese Factory

Cabot Cheese Factory

With all this cheese you’d think we were in Wisconsin, but the New England area can definitely hold their own when it comes to cheese making! Here at the Cabot Cheese Factory Visitor Center, located on Main Street of the city of Cabot across the Vermont border, your group will find some of the area’s finest cheeses and cheese products, with over 1,200 farmers and 95 years of experience total! Established in 1919, the Cabot Cheese Factory receives help from over 1,200 dairy farm families throughout the New York/New England region, hosting four different plants within five different states. With all that local support, it's easy to see why Cabot has made such a name for itself!

Once here your group will have the delicious opportunity to nibble the many different varieties of cheese, including the World’s Best Cheddar (voted in World Cheese Championship 2013) and Best Flavored Cheddar. Try the light cheddars, flavored cheddars, Greek-style yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, dips, whipped cream, butter, or cream cheese, or head to the store to buy them all! During your taste/sample-palooza, you can try alpine cheddar, hot habanero, garlic and herb, Adirondack cheddar, smoky bacon, tomato basil, or horseradish! Cheese lovers may never want to leave! The offered factory tour will allow your group to watch as talented cheesemakers create award-winning cheddars and learn all about the cheese making and Cabot factory history. You will even learn a bit about New England area agriculture as well!
