Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose

Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose

The Museum’s purpose: to serve the needs of children, families and schools as a center for learning and discovery.

Welcome to the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose, the 52,000 square foot learning wonderland located downtown on Woz Way.

Woz Way was named after Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple and major contributor to the funding of this museum. Since opening in 1990, this museum has seen over 8.3 million visitors interested in learning in a hands-on, immersive fashion.

While here your group will be able to explore over 150 onsite exhibits, as well as a more recent outdoor expansion serving as a 'bridge to nature' for children. The exhibits you will see are as follows:

  • Art Gallery
  • Art Loft
  • Bill's Backyard
  • Bubbles
  • Mammoth Discovery!
  • Rainbow Market
  • Secrets of Circles
  • Streets
  • Theatre
  • Waterways
  • Wonder Cabinet

If you are coming for an educational field trip there are resources online to prepare your group for a 2 hour self-guided 'museum adventure day', as well as extra opportunity to learn through on-site educational resources.

Be sure to save enough time to take a ride on the discovery Express Train, eat lunch at the FoodShed onsite, and take a look around the onsite gift shop (a great place to pick up educational toys or books for the classroom).
