Crossroads Art District
Let the sidewalks be your guide. And go where things take you.
Did you know Kansas City is home to one of the most concentrated gallery districts in the nation? No? Well, let us introduce you to Crossroads Art District, the vibrant and diverse community welcoming all walks of life, as well as all forms of artistic expression.
Crossroads Art District is Kansas City's 'eclectic enclave' of boutique shops, one of a kind restaurants, creative businesses, and street and art galleries. There are over 400 local artists and 100 individual studios here, not to mention excellent shopping, entertainment, and food around every corner.
Art-wise, check out Anne Garney, Belger Arts Center, Krzyzanowski Photography, or the Mid America Arts Alliance to get a good grip on what's offered here. Then grab a bite to eat at Broadway Deli, Cafe Gratituda, Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ, or Christopher Elbow Chocolates before doing some shopping. When it comes to shopping you will find clothing, fashion, florists, furniture, gifts, home theater systems, office supplies, and other specialty items throughout.
You can easily spend an afternoon or evening here with all the entertainment options, like the KC Ballet and Symphony, Kauffman, the Green lady Lounge, and the regular events such as First Fridays, the 'city's liveliest and most popular event'. Enjoy food trucks, live music, street performers, and sidewalk vendors all throughout the district.
