Dingmans Falls

Dingmans Falls

The second-highest waterfall in the state of Pennsylvania, Dingmans Falls is a must-see while in the area. Plunging 130 feet into a hemlock-lined ravine, Dingmans Falls will take your breath away!

Start your adventure at the on-site visitor center, where you can explore the ecological, geological, and historic wonders of the area, and get more in-depth information about the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the large natural area in which you will find these falls. There are educational exhibits, ranger programs, and guided waterfall walks (in-season, May - October) available here, as well as the start of the Flat Boardwalk Trail you will need to take to see the falls.

When taking this trail, you will walk through rhododendron shrubs and tall hemlock trees, with views of Silver Thread Falls to your right pretty quickly. The cascade drops 80 feet through a narrow chute, with the best views available from the observation deck above the falls. Just follow the staircase opposite the falls to get to this platform!
