Pigeon Forge

An award-winning park known for great live shows, good food, friendly staff, and an abundance of amazing rides, Dollywood continues to wow visitors on a yearly basis. Founded and owned by country music performer Dolly Parton, this Pigeon Forge theme park offers 150 acres of Great Smoky Mountain fun for the whole family!

With over 40 rides, 15 shows, and five amazing festivals, Dollywood is sure to delight your student group. New in 2016 is the world's fastest roller coaster, Lightning Rod, which rockets along the 3,800-foot track at a thrilling 73 miles per hour. If you're not quite up for the daunting ride, try the Daredevil Falls log flume, Dollywood Express locomotive ride, or the Mystery Mine dark roller coaster. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied at wonderfully themed Dollywood, where everything feels like 19th century Tennessee!

What draws a lot of people to Dollywood, aside from the rides, is the entertainment, shops, and food. Here you'll encounter live bluegrass and country music bands, animal stunt performances, seasonal extravaganzas, and more! Catch the alluring aroma of Hickory House BBQ, funnel cakes, and the signature Market Square Big Skillet wafting through the walkways, calling you in. When you've had your fill of food, or stop for a break, stop in the shops selling park souvenirs, handmade crafts, and even hand carved bald eagles! Get your picture taken by Old Time Flashbulb Photos, dressed up in Civil War garb, or even go zip lining over the Great Smoky Mountains as one of the park's special guest experiences!

Dollywood also has its own waterpark for summer vacationers so if you're visiting sometime between mid-May and late-August, be sure to take your swimsuit! Spread over 35 acres of gorgeously lush land are all the thrilling slides, fountains and pools, lazy rivers, and wave machines that you can handle.
