Cut along the edge of the southern tip of the Franklin Mountains you will find one of the most gorgeous sightseeing experiences in all of El Paso, the highly popular Scenic Drive.

Typically taking about 2 hours to traverse, this drive provides the 'best view of the city by auto', the winding road skirting the east side of the mountains to provide the most stunning views possible. The Franklin Mountains extend from El Paso north into New Mexico, and you will be able to see them in New Mexico, plus see views of more of Texas and Old Mexico along the path of this route, especially at 'the Overlook'.

Take Mesa Street to Rim Road from the west and see the area's most stately homes, plus views of El Paso and Juarez. From the east side, take Alabama Street to Richmond. All along your trip, you will see a vast expanse of differing terrain, enlightening you on the area's geography, development, and history.
