Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier

For some classic boardwalk amusement and waterside thrills take your group to the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, the old-fashioned waterfront amusement center first opened here in Galveston in 2012.

You will be able to enjoy over 17 rides, including a thrilling rollercoaster and Galaxy Wheel, several different carnival games, fun gift shops, and tasty food stands during your visit, all doing their part in making this spot full of ‘waterfront fun and entertainment like no other Gulf Coast destination provides’. This is ‘one of the few spots in the world that has this many rides over the water!’

While here you can take a spin on the Texas Star Flyer, the Iron SharkCoaster, Pirates Plunge, Gulf Glider, Galaxy Wheel, and so much more. Take a walk down the boardwalk and take part in classic Midway Games like Ring Toss and Guess Your Weight, then settle in for a more modern 5D Theater Ride (located right across the street from the main pier). When you work up an appetite head to any of the food stands along the way, such as Big Top Bites, Slices and More, and Carousel Court Sweets, or perhaps settle in for a nice sit-down meal at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

If you are traveling as a part of a performance group you are in for a special treat, as the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier offers live performance opportunities on Stage 25. Band groups, choirs, and dance groups are welcome to come and show off their talent in a live setting, great for practicing and honing your group’s skills!
