Welcome to the Garfield Park Conservatory, one of the largest and most stunning conservatories in the nation. This Central Park Avenue park and conservatory is oftentimes referred to as ‘landscape art under glass’, the entire 2 acres of inside garden space one of the most impressive in the state, and the country. Explore the over 1,000 plant species within that are on display in 8 different rooms, 6 of them multi-faceted greenhouses, and 2 of them exhibition halls.

There are two main things we at Adventure Student Travel particularly love about this place. First, admission is free and it is open year-round, no matter the temperature or weather. Second, there are ample field trip and group visit opportunities here, meaning your group is really going to get the very best out of your experience educationally. The conservatory believes that field trips 'are important ways for students to make connections between the classroom and real-world’, an experience they provide well with their monthly lesson themes. Examples of the more popular months this year include Pollinators, Globalization, and Rhizomes and Epiphytes, though you can choose any month and skill level in particular to suit your group and age level.

So bring your group to the lush and tropical Garfield Park Conservatory on your next visit to Chicago, and be aware that if you visit during the summer there will be an additional 12 acres of stunning outdoor gardens as well. Did we mention the regular lectures, classes, seed sales, and special events?
