Welcome to the Golden State Theatre, the historic live performance venue located in the heart of Old Monterey.
This theatre was first established in 1926, the very definition of an opulent movie palace in its time. It has been restored to its old glory today, the interior featuring an Old World Grand Lobby and Mezzanine, as well as a state of the art sound system, tying in the old with the new. A walk around the building will provide ‘indefinable magic of a truly historic setting’, from the velvet chairs to the lavish lobby decor.
During your visit, we will inform your group if there are any performances happening, with regular musicians, film festivals, comedians, and theatrical performances on the line up. In the past, Golden State Theatre has seen the likes of BB King, Willie Nelson, Jay Leno, and the Smothers Brothers.
