Goucher College

Experience the campus; sit in on a class; and meet the students, faculty, and community members who will make it feel like home. - Goucher

Welcome to Goucher College, the private liberal arts college located in Towson, Maryland, just outside of Baltimore. This school was first chartered in 1885 after a conference in Baltimore led by John F. Goucher, the school's namesake, and other local leaders of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The school was actually formerly a women-only college, before becoming coed in 1986.

Your group will have a chance to visit the 287-acre wooded campus and sit in on an information session, campus tour (drive-through or guided), counselor conversation, or session with a student ambassador. Learn about the school and see if you can see yourself fitting in here and calling it home as you explore the campus, classrooms, and future career possibilities.

Goucher puts a strong emphasis on its "innovative tradition of liberal arts education that offer 5 distinct advantages: national reputation, top-tier academics, welcoming community, global perspective, and excellent outcomes." The unique liberal arts curriculum features a bold requirement that all students must study abroad once before graduation, something you won't see in many other schools in the United States. Goucher College also features requirements in English composition, foreign language, 5 solid foundations in history, abstract reasoning, scientific discovery and experimentation, problem-solving, social structures, and environmental sustainability. Outside of academics, the school also features 60 student-led clubs and organizations and participates in 20 NCAA Division III athletics.
