Grommet Island Park
Welcome to Grommet Island Park, the park and playground for everyBODY!
This fully accessible beach park features a playground, raised sand tables, a sensory board, and more, holding all the necessary requirements for children of all abilities to have a great time at the beach. The 15,000 square foot park is located within the Oceanfront District, on Boardwalk and 2nd Street.
The playground is considered to be the first of its kind in America, 100% accessible for all abilities. It provides sweeping views of the ocean and a water-themed color scheme, making it as close to the actual beach as you can get without being in the water. You will find sculptural features throughout such as dolphins, surfboards, and a wave, as well as wood polymer decking, umbrella-shaded areas, and a hand-operated sand scoop.
