Founded in 1992, Space Center Houston serves as the official visitor center of the very famous NASA Jonson Space Center. Space Center Houston is a 'leading science and space center' for the United States and also serves as a proud Smithsonian Affiliate Museum.

This educational center highlights all eras of American space travel by presenting various educational exhibits, tours, attractions, and shows. Over 20,000,000 visitors have walked through these doors since opening, just about 1,000,000 a year.

Within the 250,000 square foot space, you will find over 400 space artifacts, exhibits, attractions, and theaters, all of which present the future and post of space exploration. You will find the world's largest collection of moon rocks within the Starship Gallery (as well as the very cool Skylab Trainer Module), several spacecraft within Boeing's Independence Plaza, amazing shows within the 5-story Space Center Theater, and exclusive behind the scenes look at the Johnson Space Center with the NASA Tram Tour.

Students especially will love this trip because they will get the best STEM insight here, the space center presenting this information in a seriously fun and engaging way. Space Center Houston aims to inspire wonder and interest in science and math with their educational programs and STEM career preparation.

**Before you go you can hit up one of the two gift shops or mosey on over to Zero-G Diner, the onsite food court that offers coffee, pizza, hamburgers, salads, deli sandwiches, and much more!
