Kayak Nature Tours – Virginia Beach

Kayak Nature Tours - Virginia Beach

Our Mission is to teach and guide through the outdoors in a safe, fun, and respectful manner, in order that people may realize the spiritual renewal of non-consumptive wilderness travel.

Embark on an outdoor adventure you won't soon forget during your Virginia Beach vacation by booking a day with Kayak Nature Tours, a highly recognized outfitter in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area.

This eco-tour company has been providing tours to eager locals and tourists alike since 1996, offering up a wide variety of kayak tours in local various waterways. The tours they provide are specifically 'planned and designed to give customers a truly educational, exciting, and memorable adventure', and the best part is there is no experience necessary!

From our remote, tranquil tours of the Eastern Shore to our Dolphin adventure tours into the Atlantic Ocean, we offer something for everyone.

There are a few top tours the company provides, but there are endless possibilities with the customization and specialty trip options. Your typical tour will last about 2.5 hours, though there are also half and whole day tour options, plus 1 or 2-day lesson options as well. All trips are led by trained guides and include basic paddling instruction and all the gear you will need. Here are the main trips offered;

  • Dolphin Tour - This classic 2.5-hour dolphin tour is offered each May through October, as dolphins are migratory animals. You will have a great chance of spotting these playful creatures as you paddle the Atlantic.
  • First Landing Tour - Paddle along the 3-mile route and see osprey, egrets, eagles, and maybe even dolphin and rays along the way. If the water is right you will paddle into White Hill Lake and get to see an ancient dead forest.
  • Back Bay - The Back Bay tour takes you from brackish marsh waters to freshwater Cypress Swamp, with chances of seeing deer, river otter, and osprey all along the way.
  • More Options - Eastern Shore, Lake Drummond, Knott's Island, Merchants Mill Pond, and more.

Note* - The typical accepted group size is 14-16, but there are more options for larger custom groups as well!
