Welcome to Lake Harriet, Minneapolis' top summer getaway destination!

This is the perfect place for your group to stop and enjoy the great outdoors, Lake Harriet offering extensive outdoor recreation opportunities and events. You can hike, bike, swim, picnic, fish, and/or rent kayaks or canoes here. There are two beaches you can visit, the South Lake Harriet Beach and Lake Harriet North Beach. The south beach is smaller and more shaded, but both offer the same amount of fun. There is also a Rose Garden, Peace Garden, and Bird Sanctuary onsite.

During the summer be sure to visit the Lake Harriet Bandshell, which puts on nightly and weekend performances that range from big-band jazz to solo acts. During the summer you can also take a ride on the 100-year-old Como-Harriet Street Car Line, which travels from Lake Harriet to Lake Calhoun.

If you get hungry during your visit we suggest either packing a picnic lunch for your group or visiting the eatery Bread and Pickle near the bandstand.
