Manatee Village Historical Park

Welcome to Manatee Village Historical Park, the free historical attraction located just about 20 minutes north of Sarasota. This park will enlighten your group on the history of Manatee County and Old Florida through various exhibits, artifacts, and historic buildings.

There are 14 points of interest total here, including the 1887 Church, Curator's Corner, Cowhunters Bunk, Fogarty Boatworks Building, Blacksmith Shop, Settler House, 1860 Courthouse, Old Schoolhouse, Smokehouse and Mill, 1850s Burying Ground, 'Old Cabbage Head', and the Pottery Barn. There is also a Junior Junction for the younger ones in your group.

You will certainly want to stop by the Wiggen's General Store as well, with the Whistle Stop Gift Shop located inside, the perfect spot to pick up pioneer-era souvenirs and foods. Your group can opt-in for school programming while here (grades 3 and up), or choose to take advantage of the picnic tables and pavilions for a nice outdoor lunch. The live oak trees all around will provide excellent scenery for your afternoon!
