Welcome to the Minnesota History Center, the museum and library that serves as the headquarters for the Minnesota History Society. The Minnesota History Center is located in what is considered to be one of the state's finest public buildings and was first opened in 1992.

This museum provides interactive exhibits covering important state history, with changing exhibits on display such as First Avenue: Stories of Minnesota's Main Room, Prince: Before the Rain, Our Home: Native Minnesota, Minnesota's Greatest Generation, Grainland, The Now Wow, and more.

Field trip groups will have the option of adding specialized lessons and custom-designed programs, as well as activities such as scavenger hunts, all to help understand the history and culture of the state.

If you work up an appetite while here stop by the onsite cafe, Market House by D'Amico, which celebrates the state's past and present in the agriculture movement with its delicious dishes. Before you go be sure to stop at the onsite gift shop, where you can 'take home something uniquely Minnesotan'.
