The Minnesota Transportation Museum, or MTM for short, is a Saint Paul hidden gem, this local transportation museum allowing you to 'explore history in motion' with interactive train exhibits and weekly train rides.

MTM operates several heritage transportation sites in Minnesota, plus one in Wisconsin, and is actively involved in preserving local railroad, bus, and streetcar history throughout the state.

The main site, the Jackson Street Roundhouse, was originally a steam engine maintenance facility for the Great Northern Railroad. Sitting on 9 acres, this museum today features over 50 train cars and offers rides to guests each Saturday (weather dependent). At the museum, you will learn about old modes of transportation and how they were utilized, a fun learning experience for any age!

Your group may also want to visit the Osceola and St. Croix Valley Railway, with hikes and train rides available as well, or maybe the Minnehaha Depot (Princess Depot) at the Minnehaha Park. There are plenty of options for educational adventure with MTM!
