Museum of Florida Art

Museum of Florida Art

Welcome to the Museum of Florida Art DeLand, a vital and interactive community visual arts museum dedicated to collecting, presenting, study, display, and educational use of the fine arts. Located within Stetson University on Woodland Boulevard, and first founded in 1951, this amazing art museum is actually a member of the American Alliance of Museums as well as the Florida Association of Museums. The locally loved organization contains an impressive permanent collection as well as plays host to several rotating exhibits, gallery talks, receptions, educational programming, artist workshops, and even annual special onsite events.

Currently, you and your group can see such exhibits as DeLand Sculpture Walk, a seriously fun fine art stroll through some sculptures, as well as Legendary Florida, a locally focused art exhibit. Choose between many daily available adult tours and educational options, educational field trip tours, day camps, and tons of other family fun activities during your visit. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes so you can see it all, as the entire museum an excellent way to immerse yourself into the local culture, history, and even education! Also be sure to check online or onsite before your visit to see if there are any special events taking place, such as the current show called Exposed: A Body of Art. Stop by the Museum Store before you go, one onsite and one satellite store downtown, each full of books, original works, jewelry, pottery, stationery, greeting cards, and postcards you’re going to want to take home with you!
