Take a walk on the wild side during your trip and visit the Phoenix Zoo, the largest privately owned, non-profit zoo in the United States.

First opened in 1962 by Robert Maytag, this zoo operates on 125 acres of land within Papago Park. During your visit to the zoo, your group will be able to explore various animal exhibits, visit the petting zoo, enjoy safari and tram rides, and much, much more. Meet zoo residents such as Jai and Suriya the Tigers, or any of the other over 3,000 animals that represent 400 species. See African Lions, Golden Eagles, Asian Elephants, Komodo Dragons, and so much more!

There are several different tour options, behind the scenes access activities, animal talks, and daily presentations your group can take part in, as well as countless zoo attractions to enjoy including the following:

  • Giraffe Encounters
  • Camel Rides
  • Stingray Bay
  • 4D Theater
  • Safari Cruiser
  • Polar Slide
  • Endangered Species Carousel
  • Wild Walk

One of our favorite Phoenix Zoo features is the variety of trails offered within that you can explore, including the African Trail, Arizona Trail, Tropics Trail, and Children's Trail. No matter how you spend your time here we are certain your group will walk away with new knowledge and memories to share!
