Saw’s Soul Kitchen
If you are in Birmingham and you love BBQ, you’re going to have to make a pit stop at Saw’s Soul Kitchen, the newest ‘Saw’s’ eatery that is taking the entire town, and maybe an even region, by storm. Here at Saw’s you and your group will find a ‘humble’ restaurant with great Southern eats and even greater Southern charm, a sort of ‘hole-in-the-wall’ place that just started out in this city in 2012. The founder of this popular eatery goes by the name of Mike Wilson, and he takes special pride in the integration of local factors in his establishment. Saw’s hosts several regular tasting nights, community events, and events for a similar matter, oftentimes reaching out to local/neighbor breweries just to feature a beer night!
Inside this cozy spot in Forest Park, you will find the famous pig paraphernalia, a decor choice sported by its sister restaurant as well, Saw’s BBQ (another really great choice while here). You will also see the iconic rustic chalkboard menu displaying the dish of the day, Mike Wilson’s favorite being the Pork and Greens. Try the cheese grits, onion rings, oyster Po boy, or even the catfish sandwich, you won’t be disappointed in any of them. If you are craving a little bit of Thanksgiving while here you can even order the turkey and fried stuffing, complete with everyone’s favorite Banana Pudding.
