SCAD Museum of Art

The SCAD museum of art was created in 2002, established as a part of the Savannah College of Art and Design. This establishment is a premier contemporary art museum that was first created under the simple purpose of enriching the education of SCAD students. Their mission soon opened to a wider scope of inspiring and challenging students across many different disciplines to push their personal boundaries of creativity. This museum has been attracting and delighting visitors from all around the world since it first opened, with new exhibitions every academic quarter, ensuring something new and unique every time you visit!

SCAD showcases a variety of work by a range of highly acclaimed professional artist. You may choose to take a guided tour, in which your group will get a comprehensive building introduction and history, as well as a close look at the permanent collections and special exhibits. There are possibilities to make arrangements for group or private tours as well. Be sure to check out the 250 seat state of the art digital projection theater, a place where you can find monthly scheduled films, lectures, and classes. Before you go your group may want to visit the SCAD Cafe, an artful and whimsy filled shop full of gourmet coffee, snacks, sandwiches, and salads, as well as many unique books and gifts!
