Shelby Farms Park

Shelby Farms Park

4,500 acres of green space and 10.65 miles of urban trail. It's a community treasure, unrivaled in size and potential anywhere else in the United States. - Shelby Farms Park

One of the largest urban parks in the nation, Shelby Farms Park is a must-visit while your group is in Memphis. Featuring over 40 miles of paved and unpaved trails total plus over 20 bodies of water, this park is an outdoor recreation paradise. Not only is it great for outdoor activities, but it also is a regular host for community festivals and special events, making it a vibrant community hub as well.

While here your group can hike, bike or horseback ride the trails, or take to the trees and experience the in-park attraction of Go Ape Treetop Adventure. This attraction has over 40 aerial obstacles and 6 ziplines, with activity options for every age. Maybe you'd prefer a water recreation option, in which case you can rent a kayak, paddleboat, or fishing pole. Or maybe you simply want to sit back, relax, and take in the fresh Memphis air!

Smaller children will want to head over to the Water Play Sprayground or Woodland Discovery Playground, and students of all ages will want to participate in an on-site workshop or school program. Most options include a specific topic followed by a nature hike. The subjects explored include habitats, food chains, food webs, native mammals, native reptiles, birds in the park, insects in the park, and horticulture. There's always something to learn at Shelby Farms Park!

If you work up an appetite during your visit we suggest either packing a picnic lunch for your group or stopping by either of the two onsite eatery options, including Coastal Fish Co or Cheffies.
