What is it about waterfalls that make them so majestic? Whether they're small or large, there's always something about a gorgeous waterfall that creates magic as the waters spill down to the earth. Luckily for us, the United States has a plethora of beautiful falls across the country, from the Northeast all the way to the islands of Hawaii. Here are just a few of our favorites, known for being some of the most beautiful in the country.


Bridal Veil Falls, Yosemite National Park

At 620 feet tall and one of the most popular spots in Yosemite Park, get to this incredible waterfall before 9 am to beat the crowds and get a bird's eye view of this natural wonder.

Feather Falls, Plumas National Forest, California

This fall twists and turns its way down a massive cliff to spill into the Middle Fork Feather River, in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.

If you're feeling up for a good hike, take the trail to the Half Dome in Yosemite Park (which could take up to a day!) to see this gorgeous waterfall.


Shoshone Falls, Idaho

With roadside access, this may be one of the easiest beautiful falls to catch a glimpse of. At 1,000 feet wide, it's said to be one of the most powerful falls in the country.


Arethusa Falls, New Hampshire

Very dramatic-looking falls can be seen at Crawford Notch State Park, where the water horsetails down Frankenstein Cliff, and creates an awesome spot for ice climbers in the winter.


Yosemite Falls, Yosemite National Park

Probably the most famous waterfall in the U.S., Yosemite Falls stands at a staggering 2,400 feet, with a hiking trail leading right to the top where you can watch it fall from above.

Latourell Falls, Oregon

Just a short walk from the roadside can lead you to this overhanging cliff falls, standing over 200 feet.


Multnomah Falls, Oregon

Known for its beautiful bridge separating the two sister falls, this spot is perfect for a romantic stroll.
