A true rite of passage while in Philadelphia, the Rocky Statue and Steps are a must-stop for your group!

Located before the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art you will find a familiar scene; the stone steps made iconic in Rocky III, all 72 of them! These iconic steps, plus the larger-than-life bronze Rocky statue, are considered to be 2 of the most popular attractions in the city, with tens of thousands of guests visiting them each year.

The statue was created by artists A. Thomas Schamberg in 1980 for a scene in Rocky III. It serves as a 'real-life monument to a celluloid hero who endures as a favorite fictional son of the City of Brotherly Love'. The statue and the journey up the steps are considered a metaphor for the underdogs or everymen rising to new challenges.

So be sure to visit this site, run up the steps, and take a photo at the top, with your arms raised in victory!
