The Seattle Great Wheel

The Seattle Great Wheel

Seattle's Great Wheel, a Ferris wheel on the waterfront.

The Seattle Great Wheel provides one of the best ways to see the seaside city of Seattle, this massive 175-foot wheel considered to be the tallest Ferris Wheel on the West Coast!

The Great Wheel first opened here at Pier 57, above the Puget Sound, in 2012. It is unique in its waterside positioning, allowing riders to see the city skyline on one side and endless waterfront on the other.

There are 42 total gondolas, each climate controlled and each holding 8 people. You can reserve the VIP gondola for an extra special experience, this carriage having a glass floor to look through. During your ride, which will take anywhere from 12-20 minutes, you will be able to listen to a narration describing the city's waterfront history and take a photo with your group that you are able to purchase later.

If you happen to be visiting during the night you are in for another treat, The Seattle Great Wheel putting on highly impressive LED Light Shows nightly. See over 500,000 LED Lights sparkle and shine each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, the wheel still lit but only halfway during the weeknights. There are holiday special shows as well.

The Wheel is open daily from 10/11 am to 10 pm/Midnight.
