Centrally located in Florida an hour away from Orlando, St. Augustine, and the Kennedy Space Center, Daytona Beach provides an opportunity for multiple mini-vacations within one trip! Whether you want to be a beach bum or a busy bee, you have plenty of options at this prime ocean city.
For the history buffs in your group, Daytona has a few incredible sites to offer. Climb 200 steps to the top of the 175-foot tall Ponce de Leon lighthouse, and search for the mythical (or is it?) Fountain of Youth that Ponce himself yearned for many years ago. After you've drunk from the Fountain, swing by the Jackie Robinson Ballpark and Memorial Statue to honor the man who broke down racial barriers in U.S. sports. For something a bit more nautical, paddle over to the Marine Science Center, where you can feel what it's like to walk across an Indonesian volcano, trudge through a humid Malaysian Peat Swamp, bob beneath the surface of the Mediterranean Sea, or see the Coastal Sahara.
If you're ready to put school behind you and celebrate graduation, Daytona Beach is a prime spot for fun and relaxation as well. Speed over to the Dayton International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500, where you can get a behind-the-scenes tour of the inner workings of this top sports arena. Head over to the Daytona Lagoon Waterpark to splash down massive waterslides, or stay dry on land playing laser tag and rock climbing. Hang out on the Daytona Beach Boardwalk for amusement rides, go-karts, world-class pizza parlors, a sky lift and more, all stretching out more than a quarter-mile into the Atlantic!
And of course, if all this is overwhelming, you have the option to just lounge at the beach till your heart's content! Follow the link for more information on our Daytona Beach Student Trips.
