More than 20 million tourists per year can't be wrong -- San Antonio offers eclectic art, cowboy culture, dance hall madness, TexMex cuisine and so much more that will make this Lone Star trip resonate for a lifetime!
Start off by remembering the Alamo on a sightseeing tour of the historic spots where a guide will fill you in on the amazing detailed history of what took place over a century ago while you cruise down the San Antonio River, visit the cradle of the Texas Liberty, shopping centers, the Buckhorn Museum and much more. On the Alamo Trolley, you'll see attractions like The Tower of the Americas and the San Fernando Cathedral.
For more sightseeing, check out the Natural Bridge Caverns, one of the most incredible natural wonders in America, made of water droplet formations leaving calcium behind and beautiful formations as a result. After, stroll through the San Antonio Zoo, holding more than 3,500 animals in 56 acres, featuring one of the largest bird exhibits in the country.
For an exploration into the weird, zany side of San Antonio, head over to Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, holding more than 250 wax celebrities, and then, if you're feeling brave, creep through Ripley's Haunted Adventure, a haunted house with a multi-billion dollar budget for special effects and professional actors that are guaranteed to spook the bejeezus out of your group. Cool off afterward at the nearby Schlitterbahn Water Resort, where the world's largest tubing system spans 65-acres, was voted the World's Best Water Park for the tenth year in a row. Swing over to Adventure Challenge Course, where you can choose from low-and-easy to high-and-terrifying zip line courses that take you over treetops and wildlife in a screamin' good time.
When all that is over, relax and enjoy the sights of San Antonio on the Riverwalk Tour, located 20 feet below sea level through some of the oldest architecture San Antonio has to show, as well as traveling via water taxi. No matter what activities you choose, your student group will soak up the good times in San Antonio.
