One of the nation’s top 100 public universities, Towson University offers a welcoming environment for living and learning, close to many educational, cultural and community resources. - TU

Welcome to Towson University, the public university located just about 20 minutes from Baltimore in the town of Towson. This school was founded in 1866 as Maryland's first training school for teachers, a key part of the University System of Maryland since its founding.

Towson University has evolved into 8 subsidiary colleges since opening, seeing such notable alumni pass through its doors as Stacy Keibler, Mike Rowe, Gary Neal, and Amy Schumer. It has received several awards and rankings in occupational therapy, cybersecurity degree programs, exercise science, and more. The school offers the best of both worlds; academic programs and faculty typical of a large university coupled with a close-knit community and personalized experience of a small college.

Each year more than 800,000 people come to Towson University to participate in educational, academic, cultural, recreational and athletic activities.

Students enjoy a wide range of extracurriculars, sports, and academic interests, which you can learn all about during your visit to campus. Your group can attend an information session, connect with current students, explore campus, and more. The campus itself is a beautiful 329-acre sub-campus, the second largest in the University System of Maryland, which is the 12th largest university system in the United States.
