Open seasonally each April - November, The Whirpool Aero Car has been 'soaring the Niagara Gorge' since 1916. This technological wonder was designed by Spanish engineer Quevedo, who called it a 'transbordador'. The antique cable car is suspended from 6 sturdy cables and travels between 2 Canadian shore points, though technically it crosses the international border 4 times each trip due to the Niagara River's curvature.
Your ride will last about 8-10 minutes, though the entire experience will take about 45 minutes from start to finish, and give you unbeatable views of the Niagara Whirlpool and Class 6 whitewater rapids. The incredibly powerful whirlpool was created at the end of the rapids where the gorge turns abruptly counterclockwise.
