Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Welcome to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the thrill capital of Northern California located just about halfway in between San Francisco and Sacramento on Interstate 80.

This 135-acre theme park was first established in 1968 and has since grown into one of the area's top attractions, the park providing guests with exhilarating rides, fun family shows, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with some animal friends! Your group can spend the day checking out all the thrill rides, family rides, and kids rides, or you can spend more time at the animal attractions and shows! Whichever way you spend your time, you are going to learn a lot along the way!

Coaster wise, you will be able to enjoy such thrillers as The Joker, with its chaotic twists and turns Superman Ultimate Flights super looping launch coaster, or Batman The Ride, the first 4D Free Fly ride in Northern California, coming spring of 2019. If you are with youngsters head to the family and kids section and enjoy the Looney Tunes Seaport, Seaside Junction, and Tava's Jungleland.

There are also several diverse animal programs, giving your students the opportunity to 'meet, see, touch, and feed a variety of different animal species'. Walk around the 'land' section and see various big cats, giraffes, and more. In the 'sea' section watch bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, and sharks. There is also the Alligator Isle, Penguin Passage, Tiger Island, and so much more. Opt-in for a feeding session (seals/sea lions or giraffes) or sit in on an informative animal presentation. Each option allows your group to learn thru experience and engagement. There are additional educational options as well, such as classroom sessions, overnight animal camps, and sessions with trainers.

There are several different shows and educational opportunities outside of the animal section as well. As a matter of fact, your group can try and plan to be here on an Ultimate Education Day, with themes such as math, science, physics, biology, career and leadership, and performing arts. If you are with a performing arts group you can even sign up to perform at the park through the Celebrate the Arts Program.
