SUP Walk on Water
We highly suggest you rent a board while in Ocean City and give it a try, touring the scenic waters near Assateague Island. The excursions offered by the company usually take around 2 hours and guide you through various marshes, bays, and serene coves. You will see plenty of wildlife along the way, such as eagles, pelicans, and Assateague Island's famous wild ponies. So what exactly is SUP? Stand Up Paddleboarding. This activity is done on a 9-11 foot surfboard with a wide and stable top. You stand on it and use a one-bladed paddle, with your feet parallel, and use your core to stabilize on the water. It is a full-body workout for any fitness level, though it can still be a relaxing, slow-paced experience once you get the hang of it.
Beach Time
Free Movies on the Beach
From early June to late August you can enjoy family-friendly blockbuster hits from the comfort of the sand, just bring a chair or blanket! The movies happen each Monday and Friday at 27th Street Beach and each Wednesday at the Carousel Hotel. The beach movies are weather dependent, but it is likely that they would be moved to the Carousel Hotel if the weather is inclement on the days it was scheduled. Enjoy family-friendly selections both old and new, some feature movies this past year including Back to the Future, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, CoCo, and Frozen.
